How to connect Apple Health to Daylumen
Open Daylumen and allow Apple Health access on the standard iOS permission sheet; setup takes about a minute and Daylumen only reads data. Weather, calendar and the morning message are optional, and you can change any permission later in iOS Settings.
Setup takes about a minute. You stay in control of which data types Daylumen can read, and you can change your mind at any time.
What Daylumen asks for
- Install and open Daylumen. It needs an iPhone running iOS 17 or later.
- Allow Apple Health access. iOS shows its standard Health permission sheet. Daylumen only reads data. Turn on the categories you are comfortable sharing, such as steps, sleep, activity and heart-related data. Categories with no data on your phone simply stay empty.
- Optionally allow weather and calendar. Weather uses a coarse location and Apple WeatherKit. Calendar access is used only to count timed events and busy hours. You can skip either one and the app still works.
- Optionally switch on the morning message. It is one short line at most once a day, only when there is something worth knowing. You choose the time.
What stays on your phone
Health data is read and analysed on the iPhone. There is no account to create. The only analytics is anonymous usage statistics, and you can switch them off in Settings.
Change your mind later
Health permissions are managed by iOS. In the Settings app, open Health, then Data Access and Devices, choose Daylumen, and turn individual categories on or off. Calendar and location permissions are in Settings under Daylumen or Privacy and Security.
If nothing shows up
- A category with no recorded data stays empty. Steps usually fill first when you carry the phone.
- If you denied a category, enable it as described above, then reopen Daylumen.
- Open the Atlas screen to see which dimensions have data and from which source.
